(Note that you can’t loot the shrouded armor off of them, but they do have some nice custom weapons and shields.) Thanks to the loot, the fun notes, and handpicked locations, the Dark Brotherhood hasn’t worn out its welcome for me. Without mods, these attacks happen way too often and the attacks quickly become a nuisance.īut that is absolutely not the case with this mod. They are also all very clumsy and wake you up with loud noises, so it’s not a complete ambush. In that expansion, you get attacked in your sleep by the Brotherhood. I can’t help but to compare this to the Dark Brotherhood attacks in Morrowind‘s Tribunal expansion. I also love the notes that some of them are carrying - for example, the one at Cloud Top warns the assassin to absolutely not touch or try to read the “Fingers of the Mountain” book. They’re a difficult, though not impossible fight, and some of them have nice loot.
The assassin locations make sense, but are still random enough to keep me surprised. The mod does exactly what it says it does, and it does it well almost all the time.
